Wheelchair sports offers disabled individuals the amazing opportunity to continue participating in many physical activities.  Wheelchair tennis is a wheelchair sport and its popularity is still on the rise. 

Wheelchair tennis is not much different from traditional tennis.  Although there are some tennis courts designed for wheelchairs, it is not required that they be used.  Wheelchair tennis can play on a standard tennis court.  Another similarity between the two are the balls and the rackets.  Unlike other wheelchair sports where accessories may need to be modified, the balls and rackets are kept the same.

Since the equipment is exactly the same, the game is practically played the same.  In wheelchair tennis, players are allowed two ball bounces.  This two bounce allowance is a little bit different than the traditional one in standard tennis.  The other rules, such as points system and so forth, are all still the same. 

Players who excel in playing advanced wheelchair tennis may be illegible for an international tour or the Paralympic Games.  Since wheelchair tennis has gained popularity all around the world, there are more events available including the tennis tour or Paralympic Games. 

Wheelchair tennis is also a popular form of recreational activities.  Wheelchair tennis can be played for fun.  Unlike many professional wheelchair tennis games, recreational play can be with anyone.  This means that your opponent does not have to be wheelchair bound.  If you choose to follow standard tennis rules when playing, you would receive two ball bounces and a non-wheelchair player will only receive one.
